Giant Squid off the coast of California
Los Angelos reports at least 400 giant squid off the coast of Los Angelos. The squid average 20 to 40 pounds and are known as Humboldt. Los Angelos is thrilled with the giant squid, but that doesn’t stop the squid from trying to scare off the fisherman with the giant squid’s ink. Fisherman proudly display their catch and they are looking for the “big one.”
Last September, a giant squid or Humboldt was captured in the Gulf of Mexico. The giant squid measured 19 1/2 feet long, and weighed a whooping 103 pounds. So the hunt is on off the coast of Los Angelos to bring in one bigger than that of the Gulf of Mexico.
