Thibodaux athlete Trovon Reed to sign with Auburn at noon
Thibodaux athlete Trovon Reed, the state’s top-rated college football prospect, is scheduled to sign and fax his college grant-in-aid papers to Auburn at noon Wednesday, Reed’s coach said.
Reed, 6 feet, 175 pounds, reportedly had been re-examining his Auburn commitment during the past few days after making an official visit to LSU last weekend.
“At 12 o’clock he’s going to fax his papers to Auburn,” Thibodaux Coach Dennis Lorio said at 11:30 a.m. “That’s what he told me about 10 minutes ago. Someone close to him told me that he’s been solid on Auburn for two months. He just listened (to LSU recruiters) out of respect to LSU.”
Reed played quarterback at Thibodaux, but is rated as the nation’s No. 4 wide receiver prospect by Rivals.com and the nation’s No. 46 overall player.
