Eukanuba Dog Show

The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, the largest prize-money dog show in the world, airs tonight on Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel at 8 p.m.  The event itself took place in December near Los Angeles.  Almost 4,000 dogs (and their handlers) competed in Long Beach, CA for more than $225,000 in cash prizes.

The winner of Best in Show won a $50,000 cash prize.  Another winner — the movie Best in Show.  This screamingly funny satire of dog show participants was the brain child of comic genius Christopher Guest.  Here’s a taste of one dog owner describing her relationship with her much older husband:
